Srinagar, Mar 03 : Police on Tuesday said that it has prevented six youths from joining militant ranks in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
“Acting on a specific input Police in Budgam were able to prevent 06 youths from joining militant ranks,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
“Six youths including 5 minors from Magam and Narbal area of Budgam were planning to join terror ranks. These youths had been indoctrinated and were influenced by the false narratives,” the spokesman said.
Accordingly, Budgam police counselled the youths in presence of their family members thereby preventing them from joining the militant ranks, he said, adding that later on the youths were handed over to their family members.
Community members of the area appreciated the timely action of Budgam Police.
