Poonch, Mar 20 : At least eight drivers have been booked and their vehicles have been seized by Jammu and Kashmir police in Poonch district for violating the order of District Magistrate Poonch wherein public transport vehicles have been barred from moving as a precautionary measure in wake of Coronavirus outbreak.
A police officer told wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that for proper implementation of DMs order, the police constituted several squads headed by SHO Poonch Nishant Gupta and DySP HQrs Mudassir Hussain under the supervision of AdSP Poonch Farooq Qaiser and SSP Poonch Ramesh K Angral.
The said squad laid nakas at various roads and also conducted patrolling in different areas. “Eight vehicles that were found plying on road during the checking thereby violating DMs order were intercepted and seized,” he said, adding that the vehicles seized were bearing under registration numbers JK02AV-4767, JK02BH-9306, JK12A-0351, JK02AR-7737, JK12A-3058, JK02AW-0157, JK02AP-2687 and JK12A-4099.
Police said that drivers of all these vehicles have been booked in a case FIR 50/20 under section 188 IPC –
