Public grievance redressal camp held at Kulgam

KULGAM, JULY 04: To take first hand appraisal of the issues, demands and grievances of the people of Yaripora area a redressal camp was held here at Mini-Secretariat Kulgam under the chairmanship of DDC Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat.
Scores of the people from area participated in the redressal camp with maintaining proper social distancing.
During the camp people raised various issues which include repairing of roads, supply of safe drinking water, augmentation of Power Network and other issues of public importance.
The people apprised the DDC about the dilapidated condition of main road from Kulgam to Yaripora and demanded its repairing to provide smooth connectivity to the people of area.
They also apprised the DDC that filtration plant of Badroo- Damidulla at water Supply Scheme shall be made functional to provide safe drinking water to the inhabitants of Yaripora.
The DDC directed the concerned to make the filtration plant functional within a stipulated time.
With regard to the demand of streamlining the power scenario in the area the people were informed that augmentation of power network in the area is under process and within days the issue will get resolved.
After the people raised the issues of squeezing of irrigation canals in the area the concerned officers of irrigation were directed by the DDC to ensure widening and mending of irrigation canals.
People also raised several other issues and a patient hearing was given to the issues and demands of the people by the DDC and most of the demands and issues were redressed on the spot.
Present on the occasion were ADDC, ADC, ACD, JD-Planning, Exens from R&B,PDD, PHE, Irrigation, CHO, CAO, SHO and other officers.
