No social distancing at veggie market in Jammu

After being forced to stay indoors for a couple of days due to the weekend lockdown imposed in view of the growing Covid-19 cases, people in large numbers thronged the wholesale vegetable market at Narwal on the outskirts of Jammu.

Customers were seen moving from one shop to another without following the social distancing norms. Most of the shops were overcrowded as people looked to replenish their vegetable stocks after the two-day break.

Although the Narwal vegetable market is a wholesale market, a large number of retail customers could be seen shopping for veggies this morning.

Some shopkeepers had arranged sanitisers so that customers could disinfect their hands before purchasing items, but a majority of the vendors were selling vegetables without following the Covid protocol.
