With 12 more deaths, toll reaches 490 in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir recorded 564 new positive cases — 133 from the Jammu division and 431 from the Kashmir province — during the last 24 hours, taking the Covid-19 count in the UT to 25,931.

Twelve deaths — two from Jammu and 10 from the Kashmir division — have been reported during the same period. As many as 604 more Covid-19 patients — 149 from the Jammu division and 455 from the Kashmir valley — have recovered and discharged from various hospitals.

According to the official bulletin issued on Tuesday evening, out of 25,931 positive cases, 7,462 are active, 17,979 have recovered and 490 have died — 37 in the Jammu division and 453 in the Kashmir province.

According to the bulletin, of the total 25,931 positive cases in J&K, 5,135 have been reported as travellers, while 20,796 as others.

In the Jammu province, out of total 5,846 positive cases, 3,358 were travellers. Today Jammu district recorded 72 cases, while Srinagar district topped the UT with 90 positive cases, including 10 travellers.

Although there is a surge in the positive cases, the number of recoveries was more as compared to positive cases on Tuesday. Today 564 positive cases were reported across the UT, while the number of cured and recovered cases was 604.
