Director HP&M inspects market facilities in Poonch, Rajouri districts
Listens to issues of local growers; assures early redress of their problems
JAMMU AUGUST 28: Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing,(HP&M) Imam Din conducted an extensive tour of border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and held meetings with Growers and traders at Kapa Ghala (ChokiChora) Fruit & Vegetable Market Rajouri, Apni Mandi at Tehsil Mandi (Poonch) and upcoming Fruit & Vegetable Market Poonch.
He gave a patient hearing to the Growers of Kappa Gala and encouraged them for direct marketing under the new ordinance of Farmer Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance 2020. He also assured to provide them space and sheds alongside National Highway by consulting National Highway Authority/District Administration for selling their produce. Assistant Executive Engineer Horticulture Planning and Marketing was directed for the preparation of DPRs.
While interacting with Growers and traders along with Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, various issues like shifting of wholesaler, water facility, Toilet facility, Street lights, extension of Mandi etc. were discussed in detail.
The Deputy Commissioner and Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing assured Traders/ Growers for early redress of all related issues. Necessary directions were issued to the concerned department by the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri.
The Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing also requested Deputy Commissioner Rajouri for preparation of revenue paper for the extension of Fruit and Vegetable Market Rajouri to meet the future requirements and expansion of Trade and Production.
Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing requested Growers and traders for registration and conduction of business on Electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) –the Pan India programme, launched by Government of India to avoid middle man so that growers get maximum benefits/returns of their produce.
A group of wholesalers of Fruit and Vegetable requested Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing to provide them space for business as they could not fill up the forms when allotment applications were invited. Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing directed the Assistant Grading and Marketing Officer for verification of their credential and explore the possibility of providing them space on the Auction Platform on user charges basis. He further directed the Assistant Grading and Marketing Officer for seeking the application for space on user charges from the residents of District Rajouri only and undisputed applicants where the enquiries are under process.
At Apni Mandi, Tehsil Mandi Poonch, the VDC Chairman and other prominent growers and trader of the area extended gratitude to the government for establishing Apni Mandi at the remote Tehsil.
At Fruit and Vegetable Market Poonch, the local traders and growers requested, the Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing for early completion of Mandi.
Necessary directions were issued on spot to the Engineering wings of Directorate of Horticulture Planning and Marketing for early completion of the Pending work and removal of debris from the roof of Administrative block within three days. The concerned were asked to send the photograph of restoration of work and removal of debris from the roof of the building.
