DGP sanctions special welfare relief for NoKs of deceased cops

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned special relief of Rs 1.60 crore for NoKs police personnel who served the Jammu and Kashmir Police organization and gave supreme sacrifice of their lives for the nation or died in harness.

Special Welfare Relief was sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of 12 officers and officials.

Rs 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs/legal heirs of SI Mohammad Ramzan, ASI Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, ASI Mohammad Ramzan, ASI Abdul Rashid, ASI Nazir Ahmad Sofi, ASI Ghulam Mohammad, HC Abdul Majeed, HC Zanood Hussain, HC Bilal Ahmad, HC Suresh Kumar, SgCt Gagan Singh and SgCt Asif Iqbal Ahmad.

This Special Welfare Relief has been sanctioned for the legal heirs of police personnel/NoKs out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund.

Pertinent to mention here that during this year Rs.23.64 crore special welfare relief has been sanctioned for legal heirs of 119 police personnel.
