Neighbouring countries planning against us, our role becomes important: DG BSF
Jammu: Director General BSF Rakesh Asthana said that that neighbouring countries are planning against us and in such a situation our role becomes more important.
Addressing the Sainik Sammelan at BSF Paloura in the last leg of his three day visit, Asthana lauded the excellent synergy amongst all the security forces and exhorted all ranks to maintain a high standard of discipline and professionalism.
He emphasized upon troops, “this is a very crucial time for all, as both our neighbouring countries are planing against us so our role has became more important now as we are the first line of Indian defence.”
He was very appreciative of the vigilant BSF Jawans who guard the nation’s border 24×7 defying all hostile conditions.
Earlier in the day, he visited Poonch and Rajouri Sector and took stock of the situation.
He was accompanied by S S Panwar, ADG (WC) and N S Jamwal, IG BSF, Jammu Frontier and briefed by I D Singh DIG SHQ, Rajouri and field commanders on Line of Control regarding the operational preparedness and situation.
Apericiative of the measures adopted by the troops while maintaining domination, DG BSF also emphasised on meeting the security challenges more effectively.
