Intense shelling by Pak Army in forward areas along LoC in J-K”s Poonch

Jammu, Sep 21: Pakistani troops violated ceasefire on Monday and resorted to strong shelling in forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir”s Poonch district, prompting fierce retaliation by the Indian Army, a defense spokesperson stated.
The shelling from across the border in Shahpur, Kirni and Qasba sectors was “unprovoked” and in violation of the ceasefire agreement between the two sides, he said.

According to the spokesperson, the Pakistani troops initiated ceasefire violation around 2.30 pm in the three sectors by shelling mortars and firing from small arms.However, there was no report of any casualty in the cross-border shelling which was continuing when last reports were received, he said.
