Rajouri admin switches to E auctioning of minor mineral blocks as DDC seeks strict measures to contain illegal mining

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 21: District administration Rajouri has switched to e-auctioning of the minor mineral blocks to control stealing and ensure regulation of the mining.
Reviewing the process here at a meeting, District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh directed the enforcement authorities to act strong against the persons found involved in the illegal mining.
He made it clear through his words that strict action as per National Green Tribunal directions over environmental issues shall be used to tackle the persons found involved in the illegal river bed extraction.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh; District Treasury Officer, Sachin Verma; Executive Engineer I&FC, Sageer Malik; Executive Engineer PWD, Mohammad Zubair and District Mineral Officer ,Dr.JS Pawar.
The District Mineral Officer informed that there are 32 minor mineral blocks in the district out of which the process of E auctioning of 30 has already been completed and the remaining two are yet to be auctioned.
