Block Divas: DDC Shopian listens to peoples issues

SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 23: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Chaudhry Mohammad Yasin today visited several blocks of the district to listen to the peoples issues, grievances and demands.
During his visit to these blocks, the locals put forth various issues like road connectivity, repair of damaged transformers and electric poles, fencing of Masjid, construction of lanes and drains, medical facilities, speedy completion of bridges connecting different villages, construction of Irrigation khuls, power supply and drinking water facility for early redressal.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to the peoples issues, grievances and demands and redressed some of these on spot besides assuring for early redressal of others.
He directed the concerned engineers and officers present on the occasion to speed up the developmental activities and also gear up men and machinery for speedy completion of all developmental works to facilitate the people of these villages.
The DDC on the occasion said that Rs. 10 lacs have been sanctioned to each Panchayat to complete at least two developmental works so that people can get benefited.
He also distributed various certificates and cards among the eligible beneficiaries that include Domicile certificates, Golden cards, KCC cards etc.
The DDC emphasized for maintaining social distancing, wearing of masks besides following strictly the health advisories and said that in spite of little increase in COVID-19 cases in Shopian, the virus has not been completely finished and adding that the need of the hour is to adopt precautionary measures and also avoid gatherings.
Among others, Sub Divisional Magistrate Zainapora, Assistant Commissioner Development, Tehsildars, Block Development Officers besides Officers and Engineers from various Departments participated in the Block Diwas programmes.
