Jammu: 23 arrested, 9 establishments sealed, 21 new FIRs registered
JAMMU: Continuing to act tough against the violation of Corona Curfew and SOPs, the Jammu police on Monday registered 21 more FIRs and arrested 23 persons.
SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said that across the district, 21 FIRs have been registered in different police stations and 23 people involved in violation of curfew have been booked.
He said that 9 shops and business establishments were found resorting to grave violation of SOPs and all such have been sealed under legal procedure.
SSP added that 6 vehicles were also found roaming on roads without any valid cause after which these vehicles have been seized.
SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli has appealed to all the people to follow SOPs of Corona virus as it is a fight of their own lives.
He appealed to people to wear a good quality face mask and to maintain social distance all the times besides not coming out of their homes until necessary.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar booked two shopkeepers identified as Mukesh Kewat, son of Manoj Kewat of Manda Akhnoor and Deepak Sharma, son of Vijay Kumar of Jia Potha Akhnoor for violating Corona Curfew.
Cases under FIR Numbers 131/2021 and 132/2021 under Sections 188 and 269 IPC and 51 DM Act have been registered against the shopkeepers at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
However, making lockdown more effective, RS Pura Police under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan has initiated strict action against the violators and has lodged 8 FIRs here today, thereby arresting 9 persons.
Subsequently making the mask drive more effective Rs 14000 fine has been collected from the persons who were roaming without mask.
RS Pura Police has started an aggressive exercise in educating the public about the SOPs of COVID-19, rigorous testing drive and effective implementation of curfew in containment zones.
It is pertinent to mention that RS Pura Police has lodged more than 100 FIRs in COVID-19 lockdown implementation and has levied a fine of more than Rs 5 lakh against persons found without masks and social distancing violators.
